Botanical name Caldcluvia paniculosa syn.Ackama paniculata
APNI
A common name Rose leaf Marara
Seedling
No yetYoung plant

of the small tree behind it they do look like what is seen on a
young plant, quite different to older leaves.
Juvenile

Not the best photo of Caldcluvia paniculosa however you can see the red central vein on the underside of the leaves. Also quite visible is the fact that they are pinnate compound leaves, about half way up on the right side of the trunk is a compound leaf with 3 leaflets, the terminal leaflet has some holes in it, usually the compound leaves have 5 leaflets, as you can see on the left side of the trunk, opposite the afore mentioned trifoliate pinnae. The bark on this young specimen is also easy to see. Older trees are much more crevassed and corky.
Reasonably mature

For quite a number of years I walked past these trunks, not knowing what they were, I recognised the young plants, but not what they became. This is some new growth.
This is as close as I could get to the flowers, quite dense in places, just a long way up. They do belong to the Caldcluvia paniculosa, not to the branch from another tree appearing in the photo.

Caldcluvia paniculosa bark has quite a corky feel.
